Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Now: India’s Bold Leap into Radar-Equipped Electric Motorcycling

India’s electric vehicle landscape just got a seismic jolt with the launch of the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover—an electric adventure motorcycle that doesn’t just push boundaries, it redraws them. Priced at an introductory ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom), this Bengaluru-born marvel is the world’s first production motorcycle to feature integrated radar and camera technology, marking a historic moment for rider safety and innovation.

🛵 A New Breed of Electric Adventure Tourer

Ultraviolette has long been known for its futuristic design language and tech-forward approach, but the X-47 Crossover is a whole new beast. Designed to cater to both urban commuters and off-road enthusiasts, the X-47 blends rugged versatility with aviation-inspired aesthetics. With 200 mm of ground clearance, upright ergonomics, and radial all-terrain tyres, it’s built to tackle city potholes and mountain trails with equal finesse.

The bike is powered by a robust 10.3 kWh battery pack that delivers 40.2 hp (30 kW) and a staggering 610 Nm of torque at the rear wheel. This translates to a 0–60 km/h sprint in just 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 145 km/h. The IDC-certified range of 323 km places it among the longest-range electric motorcycles globally.

🧠 Radar Intelligence: A First for Motorcycles

The crown jewel of the X-47 is its UV HyperSense radar intelligence system. This 77 GHz rear radar can monitor objects up to 200 meters away—even while the bike is leaning at angles up to 20 degrees. It powers an Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS) that includes blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, rear collision warnings, and overtake alerts. These alerts are displayed on the bike’s console and mirrors, enhancing situational awareness and safety.

Backing this up is a dual-camera dashcam system with 1080p HDR recording, loop functionality, and emergency video lock in case of crashes. Riders can review footage on a dedicated 5-inch secondary display, with onboard storage expandable up to 256 GB.

⚙️ Engineering Excellence

The X-47’s chassis is built for performance and comfort. It features 41 mm inverted front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension, both adjustable for preload. Braking is handled by Brembo units—a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc—supported by 10th-gen Bosch dual-channel ABS and three-level traction control.

Riders can choose between three riding modes—Glide, Combat, and Ballistic—tailoring the bike’s performance to road conditions. The bike also debuts dynamic regenerative braking with nine levels, hill-hold assist, and wireless phone charging.

🔌 Charging Innovation

Ultraviolette has introduced the world’s most power-dense air-cooled onboard charger, compatible with Type 2 AC car chargers. The Parallel Boost Charging technology allows the onboard charger to work with an auxiliary unit, doubling the charging output and halving the charging time using a standard 16A socket. DC fast charging is also supported via Type 6 connectors.

🌍 Market Strategy and Expansion

Ultraviolette is betting big on the X-47 to drive volumes. With a target of 10,000 units for FY26—up from just over 2,000 units last year—the company is positioning the X-47 as a volume driver across multiple segments. While the F77 remains its flagship sports motorcycle, the X-47 is designed to appeal to a broader audience.

Deliveries in India begin in October 2025, and global rollout is scheduled for 2026. Bookings are open at ₹999 on Ultraviolette’s official website. The company is also expanding internationally, with plans to deliver 500 vehicles in Europe this year.

🧳 Touring-Ready Features

The X-47 isn’t just about tech and torque—it’s built for the long haul. Riders can opt for hard or soft panniers, knuckle guards, and crash protection accessories. A special Desert Wing Edition features a sand-inspired paint scheme and touring-focused add-ons.

🧬 A Vision for the Future

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, summed it up best: “With the X-47 Crossover, we have built a motorcycle from the ground up to transform the riding experience. It represents a fusion of radar intelligence, safety systems, and precision engineering, showcasing India’s design and technological leadership on the global stage”.
